29/9/2007 - Don't Miss It!

Don't forget, tomorrow (Sept 30th) from 7.15pm, Stephen Fry and Matt Lucas open the Big Red Book at the page for Radio 4. Stephen catches Radio 4 unawares, and whisks it off to the Radio Theatre where an audience of old friends awaits.
Stephen and Matt take an irreverent romp through the station's broadcasting history, sweeping up along the way such jewels as Today, Any Questions, Desert Island Discs and - of course - The Archers. For more info, visit the Radio 4 page.


28/9/2007 - No plans to change the show

David Walliams has apparently revealed that he and Matt Lucas don't plan to make any changes to their show to suit American tastes.
The duo are busy working on a version of the series for America's HBO channel next year, but say they plan to stick to the original storylines and only change some cultural references.
"When Friends is shown in Britain no one says, 'I don't understand it because they're American'," the Daily Express quoted David as saying.

26/9/2007 - A World Record!

David Walliams and Matt Lucas are laughing all the way to the bank today as the new Guinness World Records 2008 edition announces Little Britain's record for the Best selling TV Comedy Series on DVD. Selling an unprecedented 645,457 units world wide with a revenue of GBP2,769,985, the boys are amongst some of the richest stars in the new Guinness World Records book, released 28th September 2007. 21/9/2007 - Walliams' anguish at Dad's big C

David Walliams is heartbroken after his father was told he has an aggressive cancer. The comic’s dad Peter Williams has been diagnosed with the deadly disease in his liver.
Distraught David, 36, has been by the side of retired Peter and mum Kathleen since the shocking news.
The funnyman and his telly partner Matt Lucas had been due shortly to jet off to America to film a US version of Little Britain.
But now David has vowed to stay to comfort his dad. Last night a friend said: “It’s a very difficult time for the family.”
“So far we don’t know if David will have to postpone any work, but we’ll have to wait and see.” Full story...

Channel 7 sitcom Kath & Kim has silenced critics who just three weeks ago predicted it faced doom in the ratings. The sitcom on Sunday attracted 2.14 million viewers, blitzing 60 Minutes and Australian Idol. And this week Kath & Kim is set to capitalise on the guest appearance of Matt Lucas, best known for his role on warped sketch comedy series Little Britain. Full story... 15/9/2007 - Lucas on Kath and Kim

Matt Lucas' appearance on Kath and Kim will air Sunday September 23 on Seven (Australia). Matt Lucas shot the scene earlier this year during the Australian leg of the show's stage tour.
Lucas is expected to appear as a long-lost relative of Sharon's. Kath finds a family skeleton in her closet and Sharon comes face to face with a long-lost relative from the other side of the world. Source: Tvtonight.com.au.

Jupiter nominated for first ever SA Comedy Award

The Jupiter Drawing Room has been nominated for an award at the first ever SA Comedy Awards in the ‘Outstanding TV Commercial' category for the Musica ‘Little Britain' Advert. The award recognises excellence in the production of a funny television commercial. Full story and advert here...

Theft's a car-fuffle

A motorist watched gobsmacked as Andy and Lou lookalikes from Little Britain pinched his car.
A wheelchair-user leapt into the driver's seat of the parked car while a pal who was pushing him jumped in the passenger side.
In the hit comedy, Andy (Matt Lucas) pretends to be disabled but leaves his wheelchair whenever he is not being watched by carer Lou (David Walliams), who has the catchphrase: "What a kerfuffle." Full story... Thanks to Geraldine for this news!

Poor David Walliams is confusing TV and real life. Clearly, David thought playing "laydee" Emily Howard in Little Britain would allow him in a woman's-only spa in Leeds. A Waterfall Spa beautician says: "David wanted a massage before a show in Leeds. The girls were really excited but as it's ladies only they had to refuse." Source: Mirror.co.uk. 13/9/2007 - Walliams to star in Storyman Adaption

U.K.-based independent production company Brown Eyed Boy and animation studio Lupus Films are teaming up to produce an animated version of BBC Radio 4's celebrity improv show STORYMAN, C21 MEDIA reports. The pilot will star David Walliams and actor/comedian Andrew Clover will take on the role of Storyman, conducting interviews in which celebrities share the "innermost workings of their psyches" through the medium of storytelling. 12/9/2007 - Brand New DVD Merchandise

BBC Home Video and Warner Brothers are releasing the complete Little Britain collection and Little Britain Abroad which will be in stores from November 19th. Little Britain Abroad comes on a single disc that will go for $14.98 (£7.36).

Matt & David on Dutch TV

Dutch TV had an item about Matt and David's unauthorised use of catchphrases as mentioned in the last news. The story was illustrated by a short clip of Lou and Andy. If someone has a video of this, that would be brilliant. Thanks to Geraldine for this news!


09/9/2007 - Little Britain stars in unholy row

..It's the Holy Father of all kerfuffles. Lawyers for three of the biggest names in UK comedy are taking legal action against an evangelical Christian organisation for alleged unauthorised use of their catchphrases.
Solicitors for Little Britain stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams, along with Catherine Tate and a merchandising firm, pounced after famous phrases such as "Yeah but no but yeah" and "Am I bovvered?" appeared on posters nationwide. Full story.

07/9/2007 - In Cinemas Now...

Run, Fatboy Run. Out today! As mentioned in previous news, David Walliams makes an appearance in the new comedy.
The star of the comedy, Simon Pegg is friends with several stars, including Little Britain star David Walliams, who makes a cameo appearance.
The pair met at Bristol University. Simon explains: “David and I go back 20 years.
“Every time I see him in the paper, with all his success, I feel quite proud of him. I was in the year above and we did plays together. We ran a comedy club together in Clifton when we were 18. Full story...

David Walliams and his celebrity neighbours have been invaded by squatters who are staging all-night drug-fuelled raves. The gang has taken over a £5million mansion in the same neighbourhood as Walliams, 35, pop diva Gwen Stefani, 36, actress Sadie Frost, 41, and chef Jamie Oliver, 31. Full story... If you are a regular to this site, you may notice I am having a little revamp. This means there may be a few minor problems along the way but I will try and fix all issues as soon as possible. Reason for re-design: It's not a huge re-design of the site but I want to create a more simpler and easy to navigate site as well as a site that is viewable in all web browsers rather than just Internet Explorer.
Plus this website is about to hit it's 100,000 visitor! So once again, I would just like to thank all of you that have contributed (news and guestbook) to the site.

Lucas Interviews Proclaimers
