Elizabeth's Comedy Role
Queen Elizabeth has been offered a part in hit comedy sketch show 'Little
Britain'. Matt Lucas and David Walliams - who co-write the popular
BBC One show watched by close to 10 million viewers - are desperate for the
monarch to play the grandmother of one of their most popular characters, the
misbehaving teen Vicky Pollard.
Matt said: "The queen would be good as Vicky's grandmother. There's a part
there for her, if she wants it." The duo are yet to formally approach the
81-year-old queen, but TV producers are crossing their fingers she will
accept the invitation.

From today, the BBC have been advertising a Stephen Poliakoff film,
Capturing Mary which will be starring David Walliams and Michael Gambon. The
only information available on this is a
press release which was available in 2006 but the new advertisement

Director General Mark Thompson is planning to axe 2,800 jobs in the BBC.
Such shows as Strictly Come Dancing and Eastenders are preparing to strike.
But it's not just the behind-the-scenes staff who are feeling the brunt of
the cut-backs, big names like Jonathan Ross, Graham Norton and the Little
Britain boys were called into talks yesterday at the BBC and told their huge
salaries are likely to be cut.

Samuel L Jackson is so desperate to make a cameo appearance in comedy show
'Little Britain, he's prepared to sidestep his agents' orders.
Jackson is banned from appearing in American TV shows so that he won't
damage his Hollywood A-list image. The rule means he can't appear in the
forthcoming US version of Little Britain - but doesn't stop him jetting to
the UK to star in the British version.

10/10/2007 - Matt & David present tonight's Biggest Award
An air stewardess who battled to save a 1lb premature baby at 30,000ft has
been reunited with the youngster's parents at an awards ceremony to
celebrate Britain's unsung heroes.
Flight attendant Carol Miller, 47, from Liverpool, hugged and kissed Dominic
and Nicola Delemere - the parents of baby Alfie, whom she single-handedly
delivered on a flight from Manchester to Crete on April 17 - as she was
presented with the first of the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards.
She was presented with her Special Recognition Award by Matt Lucas and David
Walliams. Walliams said: "It's amazing she managed to keep cool and save the
baby's life. We all hope we would step up to the challenge but Carol managed
to keep her cool for 40 minutes while the plane was in the air and now Alfie
is doing really well."

05/10/2007 - Little Britain to Spice up Gigs
Matt Lucas and David Walliams could be set to upstage the Spice Girls -
according to reports that they plan to take off the group on their reunion
tour. The boys are apparently in talks about dressing up as the Spices for
sketches during breaks in their London gigs, reports the Daily Star.
"All the girls think it would be hilarious to be sent up by Matt and David,
particularly Geri, as she and David are really good friends." And it seems
even David Beckham is keen to get in on the act.

The capital’s campest lady-lover David Walliams is being lined up for a
leading role at the first G-A-Y Awards.
Organisers of the legendary London club night have asked him to be a judge
or presenter at their hot new event.
The news comes after Dutch lesbians voted the cross-dressing Little Britain
comic their favourite icon and handed him their Lez Daddy award — sending
David’s gay-o-meter hurtling back into the pink. The winners, picked by the public, will get their gongs
at London’s Astoria on November 29 and 30, and the awards will be shown on

03/10/2007 - Capturing Mary
David Walliams is delighted to play Greville White in Poliakoff's absorbing
psychological drama. Greville is the charismatic, yet sinister, social
chameleon who tries to draw an up-and-coming columnist called Mary Gilbert
into his inner circle. When she rebuffs his advances, he makes it his
mission to destroy her.
David reveals that he was desperate to play this fascinating character, but
had to work hard to get the part: "It was a very thorough process," recalls
the actor.
"I had two two-hour auditions which really gave me the chance to give a
half-decent performance. Stephen and I were also able to discuss the part in
depth. The writing is so rich, you have to work very hard as an actor."

Glu snaps up Little Britain Licence
Glu Mobile has struck a deal with Granada Ventures to create a game and
other content based on the cult BBC sketch show Little Britain.
The game will comprise several mini games featuring characters from the
show, including Vicky Pollard and Marjorie Dawes. Matt Lucas and David
Walliams will also be lending their vocal talents to the game, which will
initially launch in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

David Walliams is the first ever winner of the Lez Daddy award in Holland.
Dutch lesbians voted for their favourite Lez Daddy – lesbians’ answer
to gay men’s icons like Madonna and Kylie Minogue. Russell Brand came second
to David and John Barrowman was third.
The TV comedian was given the accolade, which is designed to celebrate male
lesbian icons and increase gay awareness across Europe, by Dutch group
Lavender Productions.

Walliams to host Fashion Show
Breast Cancer Awareness Month kicks off with Breast Cancer Care's unique
Fashion Show on the 3rd of October. This year will be the charity's 11th
show, which features men and women with one thing in common, they have all
been diagnosed with breast cancer. Lisa Snowdon and David Walliams will host
the event which raised a massive £480,000 for people affected by breast
cancer last year.
