Little Britain The Video Game is
a fun and entertaining collection of mini-games presented in the format of
an episode from the TV show and players can get interactive with their
favourite sketch show characters in a series of eight mini-games. Each mini
game plays a sketch from the TV show and to win the game, the player must
progress through all the sketches to the end of the show, where the credits
will roll.
For screen shots from
the video game, check out the links below:
The characters have all been
modelled in 3D and hand animated to bring them to life, giving them the
characteristics of their real-life counterparts. The voices will be provided
by the stars of the TV show, Matt Lucas and David Walliams who have also
played an integral part in the scripting of the game and narrated by Tom
Baker, ensuring that consumers will enjoy an authentic Little Britain
experience, when playing.
All of the characters will be
using their catchphrases recorded by Lucas and Walliams capturing the
essence and humour of the show and the game will include all the favourite
characters.
Mark Hurry, Commercial Affairs
Director, Granada Ventures – “Little Britain is a hugely popular brand and
we’re pleased to be working in conjunction with Blast! Entertainment to
produce a high quality video game to bring this phenomenon to an exciting
and interactive format.”
Mini-games include:
Vicky
Pollard - Playing truant from school, Vicky must navigate a course set
up in the park, doing tricks and collect as many CDs as she can on the
way round.
Lou and Andy
- Set at the local swimming baths, Lou says he is going to find a
lifeguard to help Andy into the water. Whilst his back is turned the
player must guide Andy up to the Olympic diving board, dive into the
pool and then get out and back into his wheelchair. All before Lou
returns!
Marjorie
Dawes - Set in a supermarket, Marjorie must run up and down the aisles
guzzling chocolate biscuits whilst being chased by members of her Fat
Fighters Club.
Daffyd
Thomas - Dressed in his trademark tight fitting outfit, Daffyd cycles
down the Llandewi Breffi high street. As he goes he must pick up copies
of "The Gay Times" and drive the other gays out of the village.
Little Britain The Video Game is being developed collaboratively by
Revolution Studios, Gamerholix and Gamesauce - all founder members of Game
Republic – this game was launched on PC, PS2 and on the PSP on February 2nd
2007.

- My review of the game:
I received my PS2 video game on
the morning of release and I was testing it out for a couple of hours on
that morning. I would have to give this game 5/10 for a number of reasons:
firstly, the graphics are not as good as they could be. Even though they are
in 3D, the graphics are no where near as good as some games you now see on
the PS2. Secondly, the first game you play when you start up the game is
Vicky Pollard racing through the park collecting CDs. This is not easy to
control and is a very difficult challenge to get to the next stage (even in
easy mode) but if you don't get past this stage, you won't get any further
into the game. If you want to exit the game, you have the choice of yes or
no... but for some reason, you can't click yes (I want to exit). It is
always 'no', so you end up back on the game until the timer runs out.
Finally, if you have the PS2 version of the game, make sure you have a
memory card or you will find yourself back at the start when you play the
game again!
- My review -
Part 2:
Well it's been just over a week
since my last review on the video game and I was hoping to make this review
better and give a nicer result rather than the 5/10 I gave the other week
but unfortunatly, I now have to give this 4/10! You would think that after
playing a game for quite some time, you might get better on the handling and
be higher up through all the levels but when you have the Little Britain
catchphrases constantly repeating itself while playing, you really have to
take the disc out the machine, and place it back in the box. Level 1 - you
have to guide Vicky Pollard on rolling skates through a park dodging
benches, bins, cones and trees that are harder to control than a 747 on a
flight simulator in under 6 minutes and 30 seconds and get 50,000 points to
move onto the next round. Many times I've tried this, but I seem to be 50
points from the 50,000 mark and so you cannot experience the rest of the
game if you have not completed this round, and with the sound of Vicky and
her roller skates in the background, you really need to put the game on
'mute'.
So once again, I've got nowhere with this game. But don't let this review
put you off purchasing this game. After a drink or two, you do have some fun
with this. Even though you wouldn't think it, I suggest you buy this game
and give it a go. You'll be fine once you've got those 50,000 points!

Little Britain: The Only Game in the Village - DVD Game
Released on November 19th 2007. Written and performed by Matt Lucas

outrageously funny, and incredibly silly: Little Britain: The Only
Game in the Village, guides 2 Players or Teams through 'A week in
Little Britain'.
Join rubbish transvestite Emily Howard as she flicks through her
holiday snaps and plays Tranny or Fanny. Work out what on earth
Vicky Pollard is ranting about. Identify which songs Anne has chosen

healthy living class for some fatty-bum-bum bashing. And as always,
much more from Lou and Andy, Daffyd, Bubbles, and Linda Flynt.
This highly interactive Little Britain DVD Game, features entirely
new, never-before-seen sketches and scenes where players, for the
first time ever, can directly interact with their favourite
characters as they each host their own particular brand of quiz.

Inside Little Britain
This 416 page book is something
that not just a fan can enjoy. Written together with friend and journalist
Boyd Hilton, "Inside Little Britain" follows a year in the lives of Matt
Lucas and David Walliams. However, once you start reading this, you will
find you cannot put it down. This is a milestone book that offers an
unrivalled close-up of a classic British comedy act, as it happens, at the
height of its powers. But it is also a journey back into their pasts,
reflecting on just how they got from there to here. It covers their
childhoods, family life and early comedy performances as they found their
feet; their complex friendship and working relationship; and the
increasingly insane world they now inhabit. With so much detail about their
nationwide tour, once you read this, you will think you are sitting back
stage with them!
Since it began life as a Radio 4
show only five years ago, it has transferred to BBC3, BBC2 and finally BBC1
where, in the space of three series, it has ballooned into one of the
corporation's biggest audience bankers and this one book covers everything!
The book also contains never
seen before photographs from their childhoods to David's 21 mile Channel
crossing.
Yeah But No But: The
Biography of Matt Lucas and David Walliams
'Yeah But No But' is the
unofficial biography of Matt Lucas and David Walliams written by Neil
Simpson. This is a great read into their lives but the information in this
book is put together with stories that have appeared in the tabloids. After
they released this book, Walliams swam the Channel for Sport Relief and this
was not covered in this book which is why they changed the cover and
re-released it. "The paperback is fully updated to include David Walliams'
charity swim across the Channel plus their ongoing rise to stardom." This
book is a compelling read as we find out the people behind the personas of
some of the most truly controversial characters, from wearing drag to Matt's
favourite sausage this book does have plenty of information about the award
winning comedy.
Little Britain DVDs
The DVDs are the biggest selling
point so far. Each of the three series has topped the DVD sales charts, the
first selling more than 1.8m to become the biggest selling release of a TV
series. In January 2005, a half-hour episode was specially commissioned and
released on DVD in aid of the Comic Relief charity fundraising event. It
features guest appearances from Elton John, Robbie Williams, Simon Callow,
Trisha Goddard and George Michael, and was broadcast 11 March 2005.
Matt and David have gone through
a huge nationwide tour for which 200,000 tickets were sold in one day. The
live tour DVD was filmed during the Blackpool Opera House show on Tuesday
9th May 2006 and is full of behind the scenes footage. If or if you haven't
seen the live show, this DVD is highly recommended. This DVD was released on
November 13th 2006.

Little Britain Abroad - My
Review:
The DVD was released at the end of
November, just in time for Christmas - and this is the ultimate
stocking filler.
"As Little Britain goes all continental, we take a peek at the
show's favourite characters on their travels..."
Extras include; Commentary on main episodes by Matt, David and Geoff
Posner, deleted scenes with commentary, Little Britain Down Under
documentary (as featured on T.V), Comic Relief does Little Britain
Live with commentary and the Comic Relief Trailer.

Lucas & Walliams: The Early Days Funny Business (unofficial DVD
merchandise)
Released on November 19th 2007, this
25-minute DVD showcases the roots of the working partnership between
Lucas and Walliams that has lasted for over a decade. Ian Coyle
charismatically presents this laugh out loud DVD in which viewers
are given a rare look at the very early days of their career. Lucas
& Walliams: The Early Days is a superb selection of clips and
interviews detailing the beginnings of two guys who have kept us,
and the rest of the world, laughing till our sides hurt! With
amazing exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, interviews and
hilariously funny outakes to boot, we find out what it’s like to be
part of a comedy act on the brink of phenomenon.
- My Review:
I would have to give this a 3 out of
5. Firstly, the DVD cover says "25 min Running Time" but according
to my DVD player, it lasts twenty minutes.
The back of the DVD case says "The Early Days is a must have for any
devoted fan!" But I disagree, this is not a 'must have' item. I
thought this DVD would have many great facts about how the guys
first began comedy but really, it doesn't.
The DVD clearly says 'unofficial' and 'This DVD is not endorsed by
Matt or David' but that is no excuse to create a DVD with no
interesting facts and appeal to the fans. The back of the case says
"with exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and outakes to boot".
Where was the exclusive footage and outakes?
Rock Profile DVD
From the
multi-award winning, critically acclaimed comedy duo Matt Lucas and David
Walliams, comes the hilarious cult series Rock Profile including all the
sketches from all 26 episodes. Rock Profile was first shown in 1999 with a
further series in 2000 written by Matt and David. Interviewed by Jamie
Theakston, 'guests' including Elton John, George Michael, U2, Tom Jones,
Shirley Bassey, Blur, Sean Ryder, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, and Michael
Jackson talk about their life and work with very entertaining results.
Special features include a specially recorded introduction and interview by
Matt & David, Rock the Blind special (with commentary), The Ralf Little
Show" sketches, Comic Relief footage (from 2001) and Rock the Blind
behind-the-scenes feature. For more info about Rock Profile,

Little Britain Dolls
These brilliant 12inch talking
Little Britain dolls are a must have for any Little Britain fan. The dolls
come as Lou and Andy, Daffyd Thomas, Vicky Pollard, Emily Howard, and
Sebastian. These popular characters from Little Britain are immortalised in
the form of talking dolls. They talk when you squeeze their hand, and will
utter a well known phrase from Little Britain at random. So, you never quite
know what to expect - just like Little Britain.
Little Britain CDs
Little Britain made its debut on
BBC Radio 4 in 2001, running for two short series of five and four half-hour
episodes. Matt and David haven't forgotten "Little Britain's" origins on BBC
Radio 4 and, using their own personal archive, they have helped compile a
special, limited edition tin which was released on November 7th 2005. The
tin contains the complete radio series - plus the pilot show - an exclusive
interview with Matt and David, a 60-minute special about the inspiration
behind "Little Britain", and a unique full-length DVD featuring
behind-the-scenes footage. The Complete Radio Series - All 8 episodes from
Series 1 and Series 2, plus pilot episode, never-broadcast sketches and
outtakes. The Story of "Little Britain CD" - An extended, exclusive
