31/5/2007 - 'The Graham Norton Show' Overview

Lucas joined Graham's chat show along with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber at 10pm. As mentioned in previous news stories, Webber and Lucas were in talks of a 'Little Britain the Musical' and they see no reason why not.
Webber mentioned how jealous he was of Little Britain on tour being such a huge theatrical hit and congratulated Matt for his work.
If you missed the show, you can catch it again this Saturday, BBC2 at 10pm which includes a 10-minute 'cool-down' session where you see what happens after the credits.

Polish TV cuts 'Gay Vicar' from Little Britain

Poland's state broadcaster TVP said that it had censored an episode of the British comedy show "Little Britain" because it showed a gay vicar kissing his boyfriend. Full story.

Matt Lucas: I Would Like Kids

Matt Lucas is considering adopting a child with his partner Kevin McGee. Matt, 32, tells Graham Norton on BBC2 tonight that he and TV producer Kevin have thought about it, saying: “Maybe we will adopt, who knows!” Matt also says that he and co-star David Walliams are having vocal coaching for their new US series. He said: “There’ll be new and old characters.” View source.
 

30/5/2007 - Little Britain the Musical?

Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has said he sees no reason why a Little Britain musical adaptation would not be a success. Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Lloyd Webber said that his children were fans of the show and would not watch anything else.
When asked whether he thought a Little Britain musical would be a good idea, the composer replied: "Why not? It's a great idea, I can't see any reason why not." Full story.

Free tickets for 'Friday Night Project'

David Walliams will be hosting the 'Friday Night Project' on Channel 4 which will be shown on June 1st. If you want to be in the audience, click here for tickets. This is a very limited ticket production, so only book the amount of tickets you know that you (& your guests) will be able to use on the night.
If you want to be in the audience for David Walliams, recording will be on May 30th at London Studios. Other dates are 7 June, 14 June and 21 June.

The award-winning The Friday Night Project returns for a new series with presenters Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr at the helm. Each week a celebrity joins the dynamic duo to guest host the show. The series will be back every week from Friday 1st June on Channel 4 and David Walliams will be the guest host!

Don't blink on Thursday, June 14, or you may miss seeing the stars of Little Britain making a brief stopover in Ramsay St. On their trip to Oz three months ago, Matt Lucas and David Walliams, took time out to appear on Australia's own but Britain's much-loved import soapie Neighbours. 17/5/2007 - Stars get ready for Oscar's

It's crunch time for the stars as they gather at the London Palladium on Sunday for the British Academy Television Awards, hosted by Graham Norton, screened on BBC1 at 8pm.
The Catherine Tate Show, Little Britain Abroad, Little Miss Jocelyn and That Mitchell & Webb Look are up for the 'Comedy Programme' nomination. Full story.

 

11/5/2007 - Walliams among others at Prince gig

About 140,000 tickets went on sale at 9am today for seven Prince shows at the 02 Dome in August, with 14 more dates across London to be announced. But 1,500 lucky fans were able to see him make his London comeback several months early at an extraordinary two-hour performance that confirmed his status as rock royalty. Little Britain star David Walliams, singers Mika and Will Young and DJ Chris Moyles were among the stars who saw him at Koko. Full story.

Ireland’s mobile media network 3 today announced that its customer have downloaded more than one and a half million comedy clips since the launch of the service last year.

Top comedy clips are:

09/5/2007 - Walliams in Top 10 for Dream Date

Women have voted Bolton comedian Peter Kay their dream date - ahead of Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney. Little Britain star David Walliams and comic Russell Brand also made the top 10. Being funny beat being clever by a long way, with 55 per cent of women preferring a sunny outlook to 18 per cent wanting a man who was seriously intelligent. View source.

David Walliams has pulled Geri Halliwell. Geri couldn’t keep her hands off Walliams at Becks’ birthday bash. She even jumped on his lap to warn other women off. Full story.

Geri told pals she fell for David because he's Halli-well hung.
In a heart-to-heart over dinner with her former bandmates Mel B and Emma Bunton (Scary and Baby Spice) the singer told all. And the girls were stunned when single mum Geri admitted she'd fallen for the comic because of his massive manhood. Full story.

 

06/5/2007 - Lucas & Walliams' Perfect Night In

Matt and David kicked off the 3-part 2hr Channel 4 series in which the nation's favourite comedians say 'I want that one', and during the show, they lined up a schedule containing their ideal viewing. The lads' choice is eclectic, but is essentially a thirtysomething nostalgia-fest, with highlights including the swimming-pool death scene from Grange Hill, some 'I'm Alan Partridge' out-takes and a special contribution from Gordon the Gopher, Anthony Head, Rolf Harris and Paul Daniels. They also chose their favourite adverts (Matt's favourite advert is from 20years ago advertising Kinder and David's favourite being 'Naughty...but nice' cream cakes), their favourite music (David's favourite being the Pet Shop Boys and Matt's being Queen), favourite comedians (Steve Coogan best known from 'I'm Alan Partridge' was David's favourite) and there were some brilliant clips of the pre-famous pair.

I'm the only gay on Blue Peter

Blue Peter bosses are close to unveiling the husband of Little Britain star Matt Lucas as their new presenter.
Matt’s partner Kevin McGee, 31, is set to make the switch from behind the cameras after impressing show chiefs.
Cheshire-born Kevin is set to follow in the footsteps of presenters Konnie Huq, 31, Andy Akinwolere, 23, Zoe Salmon, 24 and Gethin Jones, 26, on the next series of the BBC1 show, to become its 33rd host. It is not clear if any of the current hosts are moving on.
A Beeb source said: “Kevin has already enjoyed a successful career behind the camera but now he wants to try his luck at a bit of presenting.
Kevin met Matt, 33, at Bristol University more than ten years ago.
Matt went on to become one of the biggest names in British TV with comedy sidekick David Walliams, 35.
Kevin has worked on a string of successful TV shows including Comic Relief: Red Nose Night Live 2005 and The Real Little Britain. Full story.

 

05/5/2007 - Ginger Spice helps David Walliams shove off gay rumours

London, May 04: English comedy actor David Walliams may finally put to rest rumours that he is gay, especially after canoodling with former 'Spice Girl' Geri Halliwell.
The two were spotted getting close at footballer David Beckham's 32nd birthday bash.
According to an onlooker, Ginger Spice even came and sat in Little Britain funnyman's lap when he was in conversation with designer Kelly Hoppen.
"David was very attentive towards Geri. And she was to him. When designer Kelly Hoppen started talking to David, Geri ran over and sat on his knee," Sun quoted the source, as saying. Full story.

03/5/2007 - Walliams attends meal with Beckhams

David Beckham was treated to a ₤20,000 birthday surprise from Victoria yesterday. She whisked the Real Madrid midfielder to London for a day of expensive shopping, having checked that it was okay with his club beforehand.
They then went for a meal with her ex-band mates Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell. 'Little Britain' star David Walliams also went along. View source.
