on-demand programme downloads
The BBC today promised a
broadcasting revolution to rival the arrival of colour as it announced a new
service which allows programmes to be downloaded on demand.
The £130 million iPlayer will let viewers get shows such as Doctor Who and
The Apprentice over the internet for up to seven days after they have been
broadcast.
Once downloaded the programme will be available to watch for up to 30 days
free of charge before the file deletes itself from their PC. A commercial
version of the iPlayer, which would allow users to buy downloads of BBC hits
such as Little Britain, is also under discussion.

Fabulous, The Vicar of Dibley, The Office, The League Of Gentleman and

21/6/2007 - Are Matt and
David about to perform a life-threatening stunt?
When David Walliams donned the
"packet bashers" and smeared himself in goose fat to swim the channel for
Sport Relief, he was praised as an unlikely athletic hero.
This year, his comedy partner, Matt Lucas, may also have the chance to bathe
in the rosy glow of public goodwill. For I hear that the duo have been
approached to perform another daredevil stunt - this time the notorious
Cresta Run in St Moritz.
The fearsome tobogganing course, down a rift three quarters of a mile long
in the Swiss ice, has drawn Eurotrash thrillseekers since 1884. The more
aerodynamic participants reach speeds over 80mph; bones don't break, they
shatter. Fortunately, neither Little Britain actor appears likely to molest
the course records.
A BBC mole says: "Nothing's confirmed yet, but there are talks."

20/6/2007 - David Walliams
And Denise Van Outen To Marry
David Walliams and Denise Van
Outen have promised to marry each other next year - if they haven't found
anyone else in time.
The pair made their pact whilst holidaying together earlier this year, after
bemoaning their singleton status.
The Little Britain star tells the Daily Mail, "I do have a marriage pact
with Denise Van Outen. We went on holiday together and we said that if we
weren't married to anybody else in two years time we'd get married."

13/6/2007 - Walliams at
George Michael's Sellout Gig
In news that is sure to turn
Sydney beach babe Candice Falzon a pale shade of green, her one-time
squeeze, David Walliams, took new laydee Natalie Blair to the gig - and then
back to the pop god's house to get too funky at a post-show party.
It is not yet certain if the Little Britain funnyman was looking to get a
little wham (bam, thank you m'am) from the Neighbours starlet, but given
that the pair were spotted strolling around London's Primrose Hill the same
day it's likely Walliam's English charms are in hot pursuit.

Norton £5 million, over a similar period.

01/6/2007 - 'The Friday Night
Project' Overview
Did you get the chance to catch
the new Channel 4 series of 'The
Friday Night Project' with guest star David Walliams? David entered the
show dressed as a woman along with dancers and the other two hosts, Alan
Carr and Justin Lee Collins. David said how sorry he was that he had no time
to change as he was auditioning for Big Brother...
The presenters had a great chat about David's Super Swim with Alan asking
"What happens with duty free? I mean, if you want a giant toblerone?"
Alan and Justin made an appearance in their own version of Little Britain
which was joined by David impersonating the other two presenters, Alan and
Justin.
Just after the first break, they did 'Who knows the most about the Host'
where two teams answer a series of questions to see who knows the most about
David. And the teams were... Justin Lee Collins with David's mum (the
winners) and Alan Carr with Anthony Head.
Little Brit of a
hitch for David
David Walliams causes a
kerfuffle at a wedding – but it’s not him getting hitched.
The Little Britain star gets a woman to pose as his date at an ex’s nuptials
on tonight’s Friday Night Project. He shocks guests by saying the groom
slept with her, then reveals it’s a wind-up.
