Matt Lucas has told of his joy
at finally signing a Hollywood film deal with comedy partner David Walliams.
The Sun told two years ago how the pair hoped to make a Little Britain
movie.
The contract means they could make any type of film. Thrilled Matt said: “I
can’t get my mind around it.”

27/7/2007 - Little Britain
Down Under
This hour-long BBC1
documentary followed Matt and David during their very successful
Little Britain Live tour in Australia.
They both kicked of the documentary showing off all the props used during
the show (and yes... there were quite a few!)
For the first time, Matt found his nerves kicking in before his first
appearance on stage in Australia but he very quickly got over that and Ting
Tong helped him get through this immediately.
Matt and David had to change the words slightly during the tour compared to
the UK tour - Vicky Pollard mentioned Neighbours in the script where
as if he was performing in the UK, Vicky would have said Hollyoaks. Tony Head made a special appearance during the Australian tour which
defiantly got the crowd on their feet during the Sebastian scene.
During the documentary, we also got the chance to see Samantha Powers, Paul
Putner and the Stage Manager, Tony Harpur.
Little Britain wasn't the only show in town... Dame Edna was also performing
and Matt and David just had to introduce themselves.
Of course, Matt and David aren't there to just perform on stage, they have
to promote themselves with many radio interviews, signing events and meet
competition winners, as well as spending much of their time in Airport
lounges.
Matt and David took their time out to see a version of "Little Britain: The
Remix" as David puts it in a local night club.
Back to the show, Matt and David are in their dressing rooms getting ready
and David gets a letter of complaint - "The Des Kaye sketches have gone too
far..." With that put aside, the show must go on and the audience continue
to enjoy the show.
We then paid a visit to Ramsay Street, home of Neighbours. Harold
Bishop took the two around the very interesting set! Matt and David then get
back to their dressing rooms, but not to do a show, but to play
a part in Neighbours as Lou
and Andy in the Scarlet Bar. The only downside to Matt playing the part
of Andy is he cannot see everything that's going on due to the glasses the
character has to wear.
Narrator of the documentary, Rob Brydon says "is this the end of Little
Britain?" A question asked many times. "There is a point in your life when
you have to just move on" says Matt.
After their last show in Australia, Matt and David say there goodbyes to the
crew. David will be able to remember his last night in Perth when he sneezed
during the Mr Mann sketch and apologises to everyone with Matt saying "Shall
I be the first to say bless you?"

25/7/2007 - No More Little
Britain for the BBC
David Walliams and Matt Lucas
can't wait to hit the US with their cult show Little Britain - because it's
virtually unheard of there.
Whenever the pair head outside in the UK, they have to endure fans yelling
catchphrases like "yeah but no but" and "I'm a laydee".
And David, 35, said in a documentary about their Australian tour that he
liked the thought of pastures new.
He said: "I quite like the idea of starting again. Very little is known of
us in America."
The comedy duo also revealed that there will definitely not be another
Little Britain series for the BBC. Matt, 33, said: "There comes a point in
your life when you have to move on."

24/7/2007 - The Papers give
it 4 out of 5 Stars...
This is what to expect this
Friday on BBC1, 9-10pm: "After 211 UK shows, gross-out kings Matt Lucas
and David Walliams took their record-breaking tour to Australia, and
received a rapturous welcome. However, as Kath and Kim tell them on a
backstage visit: 'Don't get up yourselves - we're starved of entertainment
here'. This tour diary follows their five trucks of wigs and vomit machines
and catches up with the boys on the Neighbours set, as well as
looking suburban home. As for the future of Little Britain, comments
Lucas: 'It's done now... I think'."
23/7/2007 - Lucas in L.A
Matt Lucas, along with many
other special guests are, at the moment, in Los Angeles welcoming David and
Victoria Beckham to America. Other guests include Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes
and Posh’s fellow Spice Girl, Mel B.

14/7/2007 - Little Britain
must wait as £6m stars conquer America
It was a coup for Peter Fincham
to announce at the BBC One season launch that the comedians Matt Lucas and
David Walliams had signed an exclusive three-year BBC deal said to be worth
£6 million.
Mr Fincham, the underfire BBC One Controller, admitted that licence-fee
payers had yet to see the fruits of the deal. He said: “They will make a new
series for BBC One but it’s taking a little longer than we had hoped because
they are so busy.”
Lucas and Walliams will not be paid the full value of the first year of
their deal, BBC sources said. Under their contract, the duo must produce a
certain number of hours of “comedy entertainment” for the BBC over a
three-year period. Their final earnings could be far less than £6 million,
but the contract allows the duo to sell the Little Britain format abroad.

12/7/2007 - Little Britain to
be made for US
Little Britain stars Matt Lucas
and David Walliams are to make a US version of the series. The US comedy
series will feature new and existing Little Britain characters, and the
executive producer is Simon Fuller, the man behind the Pop Idol.
The six-part series will begin shooting in the US this autumn for broadcast
next year on pay-TV network HBO. For more info,

06/7/2007 - Little Britain
to be or not to be a film?
It is still not 100% certain if
a Little Britain film will be hitting the big screens but the BBC has
revealed that it is looking into the possibility of turning Ricky Gervais'
hit comedy series 'The Office' into a film and the BBC is also considering
film spin-offs of 'Little Britain' and Gervais' other series, 'Extras'.
