January 2010 28/01/2010 - Walliams' marriage could be over, before it begins David Walliams has only stood up after getting down on one knee to pop the question to his super model girlfriend. However, he might regret doing so now that reports have come in from Paris fashion week linking her to a hunky model. A hectic week of all things couture is well under way in the French capital and getting in to the Parisian way of things, Lara Stone was spotted sharing an intimate kiss on the lips with fellow model and friend, Baptiste Giabiconi. A source told The Sun (who have very likely made up their own story) that Lara and Baptiste were getting cosy in a coffee shop shortly after their appearance on the catwalk for Chanel.
''Yeah but no but yeah but'', the retort used by Little Britain's ill-educated teenager Vicky Pollard, has been voted the funniest ever television catchphrase. The incoherent protest came top of the poll of 3,000 Brits, beating Homer Simpson's ''Doh!'' into second place. ''Am I bovvered?'' from Catherine Tate's stroppy schoolgirl character Lauren was third. Victor Meldrew's classic complaint ''I don't belieeeve it'' from One Foot in the Grave came fourth while Only Fools and Horses Del Boy Trotter's ''lovely jubbly'' completed the top five. A spokesman for www.OnePoll.com, which carried out the poll, said: ''Vicky Pollard has gained quite a following since first appearing on our screens and you often hear people saying the phrase in real life. ''She has fans ranging from children who find her funny to adults who may remember people like that from their school days. ''A popular phrase can help a television show gain thousands of fans and makes it extremely memorable, even when it is no longer being shown.'' Little Britain favourite ''I'm a laydee'' came sixth, while Noel Edmond's famous question ''Deal or no Deal?'' from the Channel four game show was at seven. Little Britain star’s surprise gift to Abertillery school He may be known for being a 'laydee', but pupils at an Abertillery primary school think Little Britain star David Walliams is a real gent. Year four and five pupils at Queen Street Primary School wrote to Mr Walliams after studying his debut book “The Boy in the Dress” as part of their fashion topic last year. They liked the book so much they decided to tell Mr Walliams and were surprised when he replied to their letter with a special package. Each of the 13 children in the group was given a signed copy of Mr Walliams’s new book “Mr Stink,” as well as a signed illustration by Quentin Blake, who illustrated both books. Lara Stone gets some practice at becoming the future Mrs Walliams She's just announced her engagement after a whirlwind romance with David Walliams, so Lara Stone was the perfect choice to model Karl Largerfeld's über-romantic Chanel couture collection today. The 26-year-old, who was proposed to while working in Mexico earlier this month, wore a ravishing confection of silk organza roses. It was one of countless intricately-embroidered pieces, from pastel bouclé suits to Grecian column gowns, that made up a collection the designer dubbed 'neon baroque'. A chance to showcase the incredible craftsmanship of ateliers used by the fashion house, one dress, made entirely of pale pink satin and chiffon rosettes, took 700 hours to make. Another featured 13,000 hand-cut satin flowers.
Abi Titmuss has accused ex-boyfriend David Walliams of copying Russell Brand. The glamour model-turned-actress, who dated Little Britain star Walliams in 2004, said that he only proposed to girlfriend Lara Stone because Brand is now engaged to singer Katy Perry. "I'm very pleased for David, but I think he's only done it to try and upstage Russell," The Sun quotes Titmuss as saying. Titmuss also denied ever dating Brand, saying: "I never went out with Russell, I know him and he's brilliant but we were friends. Russell won't mind me saying that he did ask... but we've never been on a date."
He’s had more than his fair share of “Laydees”... but David Walliams may have finally met his match. For his new fiancée, model Lara Stone, has an even more colourful past. At 26, Lara claims to have “already tried everything” at 16, and admits going to rehab for alcohol addiction last year. And despite dating Walliams since last May, she said last month: “Men don’t like me. I haven’t been on a date for six months. But that clearly didn’t prevent Walliams proposing to her as they jetted to Mexico for a New Year break. Lara’s wild past began when she moved to Paris at 15 and was preyed on by older men who offered her and her pals free drink and drugs. She said: “We met men in their 50s – actors and rock stars – and we were just girls of 16. But I’d already tried everything in Holland.” She finally found success in New York – as a Vogue covergirl and even replaced Madonna as the face of Louis Vuitton – but the pressure saw her hitting the bottle and admitting: “I’m a complete alcoholic” reports The Mirror.
David Walliams' new fiancee Lara Stone says it was his sense of humour that first attracted her to the Little Britain star. So no doubt she would've seen the funny side when he decided to hide her £100,000 engagement ring in a cheeseburger. The 38-year-old comedian asked staff at a posh Los Angeles hotel to slip the vintage 1910 Tiffany ring on top of the meat patty inside her burger, according to reports. 'When Lara has a burger she always lifts the top off to remove salad so he thought it would be a funny way to pop the question,' a source told The Sun. 'David thought very carefully about how he wanted to propose. He knows her so well that he anticipated she would go through the same ritual.' 'Luckily she followed the same routine and didn't choke. She burst into tears and scream 'Yes!' when she realised what was going on.' Stone has turned Walliams' life around David Walliams has brought happiness to millions. Now his pals hope his new laydee can do the same for him. The comedian’s rise as one of the country’s most successful TV stars has been dogged by his battle with depression. He has even admitted going out every night to parties, clubs and restaurants just because he hates to be alone. But now those close to him hope his new fi ancée, gorgeous model Lara Stone, can change all that. A pal says: “David was extremely lonely. He deserves every happiness he gets.”
David Walliams's future wife has revealed she can't wait to have babies. Dutch model Lara Stone couldn't hide her delight at being the future Mrs Walliams, following the announcement of their engagement, and becoming the mother of his kids. "I want to have a family and be a good wife, I want a family soon," she reportedly told the Daily Mirror. It's a good thing David has made no secret of the fact he fancies a big family. "I'd like three, a little gang," he previously said. Lara also revealed she's had to up her security since dating the Little Britain funnyman. "I've got my own bodyguard now. It's incredible. Things have changed," she added.
David Walliams is engaged to Dutch model Lara Stone, his
publicist has confirmed. The 38-year-old comedian reportedly proposed to the
Vogue cover girl, who is 13 years his junior, in Los Angeles last week. Walliams
has previously been linked to a string of celebrities including Abi Titmuss and
Lisa Snowden. Walliams told the Sun newspaper: "It's true, we're engaged and
blissfully happy." He added: "I wasn't planning to make a public announcement
because I am not a royal - yet." The couple have been dating since last year.
As mentioned in previous news (Oct 09), David will cycle from John O'Groats to Land's End for Sport Relief. David will not be doing the 875 mile challenge alone - David will team up with comics Jimmy Carr and Miranda Hart and TV presenters Fearne Cotton and Davina McCall. David and the team will try to make the journey in just four days - and are set to take turns to cycle several hours at a time throughout the day and night. The BT Sport Relief Cycle Challenge in March will be the centrepiece of this year's fundraiser, officially launching next week. Video: Matt talks about role as Astro Boy In a rare interview since the suicide of his ex Kevin McGee, Matt talks about his role in Astro Boy. The Little Britain actor plays gap-toothed Sparx in the story about a young robot created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son he has lost. Matt said: "Sparx is the leader, probably self-appointed, of the robot revolutionary front - an enormous organisation of about three robots. "You'll see I'm very similar, like Sparx I have no ears and Americans often make jokes about British people having bad teeth and it's true, Sparx being a British robot does have a tooth missing. Great news for Little Britain fans as we can now confirm the imminent arrival of a brand spanking new celebrity to the city. David Walliams will soon have a BN postcode, as he moves into his new home on the seafront in Hove. David certainly wont be lonely or go empty handed if the local shop is closed, as next door neighbours Norman Cook, Zoe Ball, Peter Andre, and Heather Mills will be on hand with a cup of sugar or a pint of semi-skimmed.
Lady GaGa would like David Walliams to star in the music video to future single 'Alejandro', it has been claimed. The singer is currently holding castings for the promo and is allegedly eager for the Little Britain actor to appear alongside his girlfriend Lara Stone. 'Alejandro' is taken from GaGa's second album The Fame Monster, which was released in November. Video: David interviewed on The Bonnie Hunt Show "Bonnie Hunt is one of the most relatable and likeable talk show hosts in daytime today. Bonnie's genuine interest in her guests' lives, her down to earth sensibilities and her quick wit really set her apart from the pack." Bonnie recently interviewed David, which you can watch here...
As 'laydee' Eddie 'Emily' Howard in Little Britain, David Walliams looks completely comfortable dressing in women's clothes. So perhaps it's not much of a surprise to learn the comedian has been cross-dressing since an early age. Appearing on a U.S. chat show yesterday, the funnyman, 38, showed he started wearing women's clothes at the tender age of four. Full story...
David and Lara Stone have been photographed at LAX airport last night after enjoying a romantic break at a five star hotel in Mexico.
It would appear that not all celebrities are flocking to the Caribbean this winter. While anyone who's anyone flocked to the beachs and the parties of Saint Barts and Barbados, David Walliams shunned the jet-set holidays for a relaxing and quiet getaway with model girlfriend Laura Stone. But when you're one of the UK's top comedians who is recognisable all over the world, there's definitely no escaping the paparazzi's lens. As the sunbathed by the pool at a five-star luxury resort in Los Cabos, he gazed at her and tenderly stroked her hair and they relaxed on loungers. And while she and Walliams may have just had eyes for each other, their loved-up antics didn't go unnoticed by their fellow holidaymakers. |
