Live Tour review by Jessica:
Well! Tonight, Mel and
I were fortunate enough to see LITTLE BRITAIN LIVE! It was
absolutely brilliant! I didn't stop laughing the whole time, my
cheeks were aching by the end of it! Also, I was amazed by how
quickly they changed from costume to costume, it was like magic...
MAGIC!
I was also really impressed with the way they clearly made a big
effort to include local references in the show. It made the show
seem even more special.
Now, at the beginning the theme music came on and Lou walked out
with an empty wheelchair, and I cheered as loud as I could, because
i love David. And he was being all cute and looking for Andy, then
Andy came from the ceiling with a jetpack and everyone cheered
again.
Then Andy ran into the
audience and stole somebody's malteasers. After they left the stage
there was a 30 second video then they were back again as Emily and
Florence on a bike, and David was waving and being very camp.
Everytime a character
came out, they received thunderous applause and cheering, my throat
hurts right now from too much cheering. Next was Ray McCooney and
then Kenny Craig. It was good to see those characters again since
they disappeared in series 2. I have a fondness for Ray McCooney and
his instruments. At one point he pulled out a violin and was
pretending to play, then he put it down and it kept playing, which
was really funny.
The Carol sketch, the
"computer says no" lady, was hilarious. A mum and her kid wanted to
go to Disneyland and see Mickey Mouse, and Carol said..
"He's just a man in a big suit, there's no point"
I liked that joke. And then the lady asked about flights and Carol
said
"I've got one to Campbletown in 10 minutes"
And everyone laughed, then he said "It's a s***hole!"
Then when they left,
Paul Putner came on dressed as an old man and walked ever so slowly
across the stage, and when he got about 5 metres across Carol said
"OH for f***'s sake!"
Dudley and Ting Tong were next and Ting Tong did a funny "Thai song"
which was just basically Matt screeching and doing a weird dance,
but it was really funny.
Next
was Vicky Pollard, and David came out first as the teacher and did
some funny stuff, then Matt came out as Vicky and received an
enormous round of applause.
Matt giggled during
this sketch, which made it even funnier. He pointed at some woman in
the audience and said "Oi what are you lookin' at! Yeah, I seen you
down at Kings Cross with your f**** out!" And then he started
giggling, and then the audience laughed which made him laugh more
and it went on for a while until David said to Matt "Are you ready
to continue the sketch now?" in his put on serious voice. And Vicky
said that she was doing a university course in "Neighbours" then she
said "And it was really exciting, coz we all got to go down Ramsey
Street to watch it being filmed and I really wanted to meet Ned
Parker, but I just ended up getting fingered by Harold Bishop"
The Des Kaye sketch
was funny, David pulled two unsuspecting men out of the audience.
One was early 20's and very good looking, and the other one was a
bit fat and not very good looking. And David started holding hands
with the good looking one and then he ran his hand down his face and
his chest and giggled while saying "Ooh you are very good looking
aren't you!". Then they played hide the sausage and the fat guy hid
it in his shirt and then David turned around to try and find it and
went towards the fat guy then said "No it's probably not on you is
it" then he wrestled the hot guy to the ground, half pulled his
pants down and basically humped him in front of thousands of people.
It was brilliant!
Judy
and Maggie were next and when David came out, he gave Matt a big
kiss on the lips and started playing with his fake boob. I think he
was in a rather touchy mood after groping that young hot man.
And everyone got
vomited on, which was lovely. Even David got some on him in the end,
which was a nice twist.
Then it was interval,
i squirmed and giggled and swooned excitedly with Mel until second
half began which started off with Anne in "Stars In Their Eyes" and
he sang a Whitney Houston song. Well, he didn't sing of course, it
was just "Eh eh eh ehhhhhh" until he got bored and knocked down the
cardboard set then ran into the audience and licked a bald man's
face and mooned the people next to him, its a shame i didn't have a
close up view of David's lovely bum.
The Mr Mann and Roy
sketch was probably the funniest part of the whole show, because
when Matt says "Margret?...MARGRET?" a few people in the audience
called out "Yessss?" and Matt and David kept looking at each other
waiting for it to quieten down, then someone else called out
"Yessss?" and David said:
D-"Noo, your timing was off that time, now its just a bunch of
pissed up Aussies calling out things. And I think the ones up the
front are on crack" And Matt giggled, then David said with a cheeky
smile "Well you like crack don't you Matt!"
And Matt kept giggling and said, "Well what do you mean by that
David!"
D- "Well I mean that you like to put your p**** into men's bottoms"
M - "Well *giggle*, yes David when I get home I like to relax, watch
a bit of telly and then put my p**** into men's bottoms. But at
least I'm open about it, unlike some people!"
D- " *looks at audience* Look I'm straight, its my p**** that's gay.
Honestly you give a few blow jobs and suddenly your gay!"
M - "It's all getting a bit rude now isn't it!"
D - "It is isn't it, are there any kids in the audience tonight?"
*cheers from parts of the audience*
D- "Kids, I'm f****** sorry. It is a rude show"
Then David started to
imitate Andy and Matt did a bit of Lou then he did Anne which was
hilarious and probably my favourite sketch of the show.
After that there was "Martin its Linnnnda" Dennis Waterman (which
was reeeally cute) and Marjory Dawes with Fat Fighters who pulled
some poor unsuspecting man out of the audience and embarrassed him
in front of thousands of people. Then she gave him a giant Fat
Fighters t-shirt and said "Oooh, I think that one might be a bit
snug on you!"
The next to come were Bubbles DeVere, who stripped off the reveal
her stunning body.
And then finally, the
Sebastian sketch. When Anthony Head walked on as the Prime Minster
there was a collective gasp then lots and lots of cheering. During
the Sebastian sketch, David stripped off all his clothes, tucked his
pink bits between his legs and said "Look Prime Minister, I'm a
girl!". That was brilliant!
The all took a bow and
then left the stage, only to come back on a couple of minutes later
for the Daffyd sketch and the finale. The finale was a big song and
dance number. Matt Lucas was singing as Daffyd and everyone was
wearing these red and blue plasticy costumes and they were all
camping it up.
When it finished i
stood up and cheered and screamed until they took their final bows
(Matt and David held hands for the last bow, adorable) and left the
stage.
I was sad that it was
all over, but then Mel and I decided to go autograph hunting. And
after about 15 minutes of running around the Hordern Pavillion (in
high heel boots I might add) we found ourselves near the front of a
line of about 80 people waiting to get an autograph. When Matt,
David and Anthony came out into the foyer, then sat down at a little
table to sign stuff for people. David looked incredibly gorgeous in
his long black shirt and jeans with his aviator sunnies hanging off
his shirt, he also looked very tired. Poor guy.
When
Mel and I got to the front of the line I was really nervous because
I didn't know what to say to them, Mel went first then it was my
turn. Anthony was the first at the table and I said "Hello!" to him
and he said "Hello!" cheerily back and signed my "I'm a lady!" shirt
then i moved onto David, and because I wasn't expecting him to say
anything I didn't really hear what he said to me, but it was
something about my "Be Gentle With Me" Sebastian badge because he
was pointing to it. I said "Oh yeah, I got that from a birthday
card" and David said "Oh really, how old are you then?" and I said
"18" and he said "Well that's great". Then he signed my t-shirt very
carefully and put a kiss under his signature *swoon*. Then when i
got to Matt he said "So is it your birthday today then?" and i said
"Oh no no, that was in December!". Then David looked up from the
program he was signing and said "Well your milking it a bit then
aren't you!". Then started giggling and probably turned red and Matt
said "I really like your dress by the way" and I said "Thanks! and
went off on my merry way.
Little Britain Live
was the most spectacular thing I've seen and meeting Matt, David and
Anthony is probably going to be my top most exciting moment ever,
probably will even beat out my wedding day (sorry future husband).
