The BBC announced on July 18th 2006 that there
would be two Christmas specials.
The show was in two half-hour
programmes called 'Little Britain Abroad', taking all characters
outside the UK.
Little Britain Abroad was first shown on BBC1 on
Christmas Day (2006) at 10.30pm (part one) and December 30 at 9.15pm showed part two
of this award-winning comedy.
Peter
Kay, Steve Coogan, Dawn French, Ronnie Corbett, Julia Davis and Paul McKenna all appeared in
this Little Britain special.
Fans were given a preview of the show at a recording in London on September 2nd
06, where video sketches were also played.
Vicar of Dibley star, Dawn French, made a guest appearance as Vicky's mother. Walliams revealed: 'Her mother
Shelley turns up, played by Dawn French, to try and get her out of trouble.'
Walliams humoured by the shows scripts says of French, 'The moment she walks
on you are laughing. She is one of the most natural brilliantly funny
people.'
The Bolton News revealed in August that the
comedian, Peter Kay would be playing the role of sleazy Les in a sketch with
Little Britain regulars Dudley, played by David Walliams, and his
disappointing mail-order Thai bride Ting Tong Macadangdang, played by Matt
Lucas.
Peter - wearing a comb-over and outdated cowboy clothes - played a cameo
role alongside fellow comedian Ronnie Corbett.
